Pinned by Pinterest

I love Pinterest, so I guess you could call me a pinhead and it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you need to check out Pinterest, pronto.

Pinterest is an on-line happy place where people can pin and share photos that have captured their attention while surfing the web.  Pinning these attention grabbing photos enables “pinners” to save and share their interests through photos on crafts, decorating, party planning, photography, style, home decor, travel, food, beer, wine and absolutely everything under the sun, and it is the fastest-growing website in internet history.

After a pinner has pinned something they like, that photo is automatically linked to the source where they got the photo from so other interested pinners can get all the information related to the pinned photo.

My first official pin was of one of my favorite appetizer recipes: Hot Carmelized Onion dip with Bacon and Gruyere. The picture was pinned onto my my very first board, which I named, “Food.” From there I’ve expanded into having 21 boards with 329 pins for everything from food and drink recipes to places I want to travel, and including several boards dedicated to wine.

My favorite boards, of course, are the boards that are all about wine. On my wine boards, I have my articles and reviews I’ve written about wine, there are boards for recycling corks and bottles, a board for wine party ideas and one for wine products that I love.

If you’re already a member of Pinterest and you’d like to check out my boards and follow me, click here.

For those of you that are not familiar with this new social networking craze, this is how I like to describe it to others: Facebook is for friends and family, MySapce is for music lovers, LinkedIn is for professionals and Pinterest is for me.
