Drink Now: ’09 la terra Whistling Ridge Estate Pinot Noir

Whistling Ridge Vineyards is located in the Ribbon Ridge AVA in Yamhill County, Oregon.  Ribbon Ridge AVA is a sub appelation of the larger Willamette Valley AVA and is an area known for producing excellent Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay wines.

Cheers to another excellent ’09 vintage Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. The 2009 la terra Whistling Ridge Estate Pinot Noir is garnet red in color and displays dark fruit aromas with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, full fruit forward flavors of cranberries, cherries and earth lead to a long finish with gripping tannins and a hint of pepper and spice.

Perfect on a sunny Spring afternoon, this is one of those drink now 2009 vintage Pinot Noirs. If you spot it on the shelves, don’t just cruise on by…this tasty Pinot Noir is just under $20 and worth every penny.
