Pinteresting: Palatable Pears

In addition to the gorgeous colors of fall, one of the tings I love about autumn is the delicious abundance of one of my favorite fruits: pears. Pears have their own distinctive taste and texture, and there’s no other fruit quite like them. Aside from just picking one up and taking a crispy, juicy bite, I’ve recently discovered many ways that pears can be used in mouthwatering recipes.

With two large bags of freshly picked pears that a friend gave me a little over a week ago, these pears have been ripening in my garage and are ready to be devoured. I logged on to Pinterest to search for pear recipes, and a plethora of alluring pictures and delicious sounding recipes took over my screen. I decided to create a pin board named Palatable Pears just for the recipes that really caught my attention. From Pear and Walnut Sandwiches to Zucchini-Pear Soup, I’m going to have a little pear-mania going on at my house this weekend.

The images below are from recipes I’ll be using to take advantage of the abundance of ripe pears that are just waiting to be eaten. Click on any of the images to be brought to the recipe and my Pinterest board, Palatable Pears.

Pear Caramel Ice Cream

Pear, Walnut and Ricotta Crostini
