What’s In My Glass Today?
So many Pinot’s, so little time! I was in need of a good Pinot Noir to pair with a simple baked salmon dish, so I had to make a choice.
Deciding on the vintage was easy, the 2009 Oregon Pinots are drinking beautifully right now, but they are plentiful and fill the shelves at wine shops and wine bars. So, which of the ’09 Pinots did I end up taking home with me? The one that I sampled: The 2009 Westrey Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
Bright red fruit aromas of strawberry and cherry flowed through to the flavors, in addition to a hint of toasted oak and vanilla. The finish was beautifully balanced and the flavors of the wine melded perfectly with my baked Atlantic salmon filet.
Is there anything better than a quality Willamette Valley Pinot Noir paired with salmon?

Good article and GOOD pairing.
Thanks Deborah! One of my favorite pairings = Salmon + Pinot Noir!
