What’s In My Glass Today?

The wind is whipping today and there is still a winter-like chill in the air, so I’ve decided to pop the cork on a warm-me-up bottle of Tempranillo.

This ruby-red beauty comes from Oregon’s Applegate Valley wine region and is produced by Fly High Vineyards.  It’s their 2009 Barnstormer’s Red Tempranillo and it’s going down rather nicely. Although the mouthfeel is pretty light, the tannins on the finish are currently working on warming me up, and they are nicely rounded out by lovely berry flavors. I love this Tempranillo’s aromas of plum, leather and spice, and it’s the perfect wine for a windy, chilly March day in the Willamette Valley.
