New Release: LaVelle Vineyards Northwest Duet 2010

During their annual Modern and Classic European Sports Car Show, LaVelle Vineyards was offering a sneak preview of their soon-to-be-released 2010 Northwest Duet, a red blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Malbec.

Light bodied like many Pinots with added depth of character from the Malbec, bursting aromas of plum and cherries really caught my attention at first swirl and sniff.  Fruit forward flavors of red berries, plum, coffee and earth are well rounded with soft tannins, making this a savory and approachable red wine. 

I’m looking forward to enjoying a glass of the Northwest Duet alongside a slice of Manchego cheese and a fresh baguette. Yum.
