In The Glass: Montinore Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2010

Located in the North Willamette Valley near the foothills of Oregon’s breathtaking Coastal Range, Montinore Estate is comprised of 230 acres of contiguous vineyards. Dedicated mostly to Pinot Noir, other varietals grown on the estate vineyards include Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Muller-Thurgau.

All of Montinor’es grapes are tended using strict biodynamic guidelines, and have been certified since 2008 – “We are committed to producing finely crafted wines that express “a taste of the earth,” and we believe nothing achieves that with more clarity and purity than farming our wine grapes Biodynamically.”

The Montinore Estate 2010 Willamette Valley Estate Reserve Pinot Noir has bright fruit aromas like cranberries and cherries along with a tantalizing and alluring smokiness. Flavors of dark cherry, plums and earth with a hint of pepper on the lingering, juicy finish is down-right delicious. This is really enjoyable now, but has the structure to age a bit too. Another 2010 Pinot Noir from the North Willamette Valley that hits home with my palate, cheers.
