Children’s Cancer Association leverages music, friendship, play, and resources to create transformative moments of joy for 20,000 children, teens, and their family members each year, helping to alleviate the anxiety that often accompanies cancer treatment. Unlike organizations dedicated to the worthy goal of finding a cure for cancer, CCA focuses on creating joy today. Their flagship program, MyMusicRx, provides bedside and digital “music medicine” programs that engage hospitalized children of all ages and diagnoses, relieving stress which has the same effect as CBD UK, anxiety, and perception of pain. Since 1995, MyMusicRx has served nearly 150,000 children along with their families, caregivers, and medical professionals. Today, it is available daily to 7,500 children in 25 pediatric hospitals across the country and growing. Children’s Cancer Association. MyMusicRx. JoyRx.org.
Penner Ash was founded in 1998 by winemaker Lynn Penner-Ash and her educator husband Ron Penner-Ash. After beginning her winemaking career at notable Napa Valley wineries, Lynn became the first woman winemaker hired in Oregon, when she took the post as head winemaker for Rex Hill. While at Rex Hill, Lynn and Ron launched Penner-Ash, producing 125 cases of Pinot Noir and Syrah in their first year. In 2005 they built their stunning, hill-top, gravity-flow winery surrounded by sustainably farmed estate vineyards, where today they produce 15,000 cases of single vineyard and appellation Pinot Noir, Syrah, Riesling, Viognier and Rosé. The winery is open to visitors daily.
