Origin ’13: Feasting with the Wines of Chehalem Mountains and Ribbon Ridge
Envision the beginning of the world through the history of Oregon’s Chehalem Mountains and Ribbon Ridge: virtually simultaneous cataclysmic floods, tumultuous winds, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The ultimate creation was complex soils with, yes, perfect qualities to support original vineyards and world class wines.
Once chaos subsided (relatively recently) intrepid characters from all walks of life — farmers, teachers, doctors, artists and artisans, scientists, and the “everyman” — came together, inspired by their love of exceptional wine, and unified by a goal to harness the power of these geologic phenomena. For the good of mankind, they rolled up their sleeves, dug in, planted, farmed and produced many of the most acclaimed vineyards and wines in the Pacific Northwest.
Celebrate their accomplishments at Origin ′13, an unprecedented food and wine event in a lovely vineyard rooted in soils founded by some of the most dramatic geology in Oregon.
Meet the characters who tamed the land, planted the vines and make their wines from this renowned region. Sip the fruits of their labor, walk through the vines, feast incredibly well, and fall in love with the Chehalem Mountains and Ribbon Ridge. Just like they did.
