What’s In My Glass Today?

On our way home from a wine tasting out at King Estate Winery, we stopped at a little market in the South Hills of Eugene called the Bailey Hill Market. We were there to get a bottle of water, but what actually ended up in our bag was wine.

Unassuming on the outside, this little market carries quite an impressive line of locally produced wines on the inside. We decided to take home a familiar bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and an unfamiliar bottle of Pinot Noir.

The WildAire Cellars 2008 Willamette Valley Timothy Pinot Noir is what is in my glass today, and this under $20 Pinot is definitely worth writing about. The tart cranberry aroma leads to flavors of cherry, vanilla and spice. This light Pinot Noir is extremely well balanced with a slightly earthy, medium length and totally pleasing finish.

I’m enjoying each and every sip.
